We know it as the Dandelion, but it has also been called Priest's Crown, Blow Ball and Swine's Snout and while many people think of the Dandelion as a troublesome weed, it is actually nature's greatest healing herb.

Ah yes, Halloween is almost here. Soon there will be jack-O-lanterns in windows and on front porches to welcome little ghosts and goblins as they troop through the streets with their buckets and bags laden with sweet treasures.
The reason I call this recipe “twisted” is because although I love lentil soup, I am not a big fan of lamb. Years ago I took a traditional lentil soup recipe and twisted it around to better suit my tastes. The result was delicious.
Banging your head against the wall for one hour, will burn 150 calories but there are other less painful methods of losing weight. If you have a large lawn and like to cut grass, a half hour of mowing will burn 100 calories. Live in an apartment? No problem. Thirty-five minutes of vacuuming will also burn 100 calories. And for those who are not into housework, a nice brisk half hour walk will burn that same 100 calories.
Anyone who has ever been advised by their Doctor to add more fiber to their diet has no doubt found themselves aimlessly wondering the cereal isles trying to figure out which one is better for them. It is easier, and tastier to add fiber to your diet by staying out of the cereal isle and heading to the fresh fruit section to pick up some pears.
Whenever we are invited to a potluck gathering, my husband is always asked to bring his famous chili.His chili is thick, spicy and delicious, but he gives no thought to fat content or nutrition One night for dinner I made him this version made with ground chicken and laughingly called it my Chubby Hubby Chicken Chili. Although he wasn't all that amused with the name I had given it, he loved the recipe and now even substitutes chicken (or turkey) into his own chili recipe.
No matter how many are at my table for dinner, I always end up with leftover mashed potatoes. Before tossing them after dinner, think of all the things that can be done with them. Some are so tasty that I purposely make extra so that I can use the leftovers the next night.
