How To Get The Best Buys On Everyday Foods

Today, most large supermarkets carry nearly every fruit and vegetable imaginable, and while they are nice to have them available, you pay the price to have them shipped. Items such as fresh berries are nice to have fresh for recipes during the winter, but at a cost of four to five dollars for a just a handful, it is more economical to buy a large bag of frozen berries for the same amount or even less money. I've found that the "flash" frozen fruit offered in the grocery stores is great. I especially like the sliced strawberries. They still have their shape and not all of the liquid that some of the frozen box type have.

I am very lucky here in Cyprus as I am surrounded by fruit, but I buy raspberries from the frozen section, as they don't grow them here.
