Dealing with a Heat Wave and Avoiding Heatstroke
Attention All Gardeners!!!Because most of us can hardly wait for summer to arrive, we often forget that the summer heat can be very dangerous if we are not careful. Heat exhaustion and heatstroke are serious, potentially life threatening conditions, that require immediate medical treatment.
Fried Green Tomatoes
A very basic recipe for those of us who can`t wait to eat from our gardens.Ingredients
• 1 Egg, beaten
• ½ cup .Milk
• ½ cup Cornmeal
• 1/4 c. all-purpose Flour
• 1 tsp Garlic powder
• 1 tsp. Salt
• ½ tsp. Pepper
• 4 med.-sized green Tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch slices
• 4-5 tbsp. Vegetable oil
Method
• Combine egg and milk; set aside.
• Combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
• Dip tomatoes in egg mixture; dredge in cornmeal mixture.
• Fry in oil until golden brown.
